1. What is Illinois Student Vote?

1.1 Illinois Student Vote provides an exciting opportunity for schools and classrooms to participate in the Illinois electoral process.

1.2 Once a teacher or school has registered they will be able to download age appropriate curriculum to use in the classroom.

1.3 Classrooms and schools will also be able to participate in a mock election for Presidential, Senate and Congressional candidates and the Illinois Constitutional Convention referendum.

1.4 Schools/teachers must submit votes by 11/02/2010.

 

2. How can I participate in Illinois Student Vote?

2.1 To participate in the Illinois Student Vote project teachers must register their classrooms at http://illinoisstudentvote.org/user/register

2.2 Users must fill out all the information marked with asterisks.

2.3 If a registrant forgets his/her login information they can click here: http://illinoisstudentvote.org/user/password

 

3. I’ve registered my school/classroom what do I do next?

3.1 Use your registered login name and password at http://www.illinoisstudentvote.org/user/login

3.2 Once you are logged in, you can view and download the curriculum, participate in the voting process and view the election results.

4. How do I submit the results of the election conducted in our school?

4.1 Go to 'Educators -> Submit Votes'. Directions for submitting votes will be found there. You must be registered to submit votes.

 

5. I made a mistake while inputting my classroom votes. Can I modify the votes I submitted?

5.1 Yes. Go to the Educators portal and click on Submit Votes ('Educators -> Submit Votes').
5.2 Enter the correct numbers of votes for the candidate(s) you want to correct.
5.3 Click submit votes. The system will automatically correct the vote total, as well as your individual school's total votes.

 

6. How can I view the election results?

6.1 Click on the 'Election Results' button.
6.2 For detailed information, use the filter to choose a specific school.
6.3 Votes can be submitted until 11/02/2010.

 

7. What can students do to participate in the Illinois Student Vote project?

7.1 Students can submit pictures and videos to the website administrator. These pictures and videos can show classrooms projects, student debates, mock election voting and any other items relevant to the electoral process.

7.2 Items chosen by the administrator for public download are made available here.

7.3 Students can participate in their own forum under the student portal section.

 

8. I want to submit some pictures or video, how do I do that?

8.1 Email your pictures to the administrator at info@IllinoisStudentVote.org, JPEGS are the only allowable format for upload and submitted pictures must be 550x413 pixels, we will not convert/resize images.

8.2 For videos, upload it to YouTube, Vimeo, etc., then email the administrator (info@illinoisstudentvote.org) with a link to your video.

 

9. When I click on some of the menu buttons, I always see the login page. Why?

9.1 You must be a registered user to download curriculum and submit votes.

9.2 To access this information you need to use your login name and password.

9.3 To register go to http://illinoisstudentvote.org/user/register
